How INTRVL Came to Be
The Beginning
Before this place became INTRVL, it was Sapphire Haven — a desert escape shaped by our love for meaningful spaces, unforgettable experiences, and gathering in Joshua Tree. What began as our personal vision for hosting friends and family slowly grew into something larger: a place designed around connection, celebration, rest, and return (especially during changing seasons of life).
At first, the property felt like an extension of our own story. Sapphire blue tones were woven throughout the home, inspired by a stone in Bex’s wedding ring. It was personal from the beginning. Over time, we noticed that guests were often arriving in moments of transition, and the house became part of those moments. And that realization led to another … life moves in seasons, and this place had become a pause between one season and the next. An interval.
As the property evolved into INTRVL, the design shifted with it. We softened much of the original sapphire blue into earth tones, blacks, greys, and natural textures — a palette more grounded in the surrounding area itself, and more open to the many stories the guests would bring.
We share INTRVL because we believe life’s seasons are meant to be fully experienced through family, community, movement, rest, celebration, and time with the people you love. Our hope is that every guest finds space to pause, reconnect, and return changed … no matter the interval between seasons.
The Family Behind INTRVL
We’re Zack, Bex, and Daxton — the family behind INTRVL. We split our time between Huntington Beach and Joshua Tree, where Bex is originally from, and feel deeply connected to both the ocean and the desert. We love travel, music, movement, wellness, adventure, and creating experiences that bring people together. From surfing and hiking to house music, yoga, meditation, CrossFit, and hosting desert weekends, we believe life is meant to be fully lived — especially with the people you love.
We named our micro-resort INTRVL because this place became more than a getaway. It became a pause between seasons … a space for gathering, reflection, celebration, and what comes next.
What’s Important To Us
Consistency Through Change
Life changes, but INTRVL remains steady. We hope guests return through different seasons and find a place that still feels familiar, grounded, and dependable.
Balance
INTRVL makes room for both energy and stillness. Guests can celebrate, play, rest, reflect, and move through the property in their own way.
Stewardship
We believe meaningful places should be cared for. We host with respect for the land, the property, and the guests who help preserve it.
